Reading Comprehension (RC)
SBI PO: 10–15 marksHigh ScoringTime: 6–8 min
RC ek aisa topic hai jisme students sabse zyada marks chhod dete hain kyunki woh pura passage
shuru se aakhir tak word-by-word padhte hain. Galat approach. Sahi approach seekho aur yeh section tumhara
strongest banega.
Passage Solve Karne Ka System (4 Steps)
1
Questions pehle padhо (30 sec): Passage se pehle saare questions ek baar scan karo.
Vocabulary questions (synonym/antonym) aur "can be inferred" alag karo. Factual/direct questions ke keywords
note karo inhe passage mein dhundhna hai.
2
Passage ka intelligent scan (90 sec): Pehla paragraph poora padho theme set hoti hai.
Aakhri paragraph poora padho conclusion milta hai. Beech ke paragraphs ki sirf pehli line (topic sentence)
padho.
3
Factual questions solve karo (2–3 min): Step 1 mein note kiye keywords ko passage mein
dhundho. Us hisse ke aas-paas 2-3 lines padho. Answer milega wahan.
4
Inference + tone questions solve karo (2 min): Yeh thoda soochna padta hai. Author ka
kya stance hai? Positive/negative/neutral? Passage ke andar hi answer hai apni knowledge mat lagao.

Cloze Test
5–10 marksScoring topic
Ek paragraph mein 5–10 blanks hote hain. Har blank ke liye 4–5 options diye jaate hain.
Pura paragraph ek theme pe hota hai economy, environment, social issue, technology, etc.
Cloze Test Solving 4 Step System
1
Pura paragraph pehle ek baar padho (bina fill kiye): Theme samjho kiske baare mein
hai? Economy, poverty, banking reform? Tone samjho positive hai ya negative?
2
Blank ke aas-paas ki lines padho: Ek blank ke pehle aur baad ki line dono context
deti hain. Akela blank mat dekho.
3
Grammar filter lagao: Part of speech check karo blank mein noun chahiye? Verb?
Adjective? Preposition? Isse 2–3 options automatically eliminate ho jaate hain.
4
Meaning + Collocation check: Jo option meaning mein fit ho. Aur jo word is blank ke paas
wale word ke saath naturally "aata" ho (collocation).
Collocations Yaad Rakho
Make a decision (not "do a decision") Take responsibility (not "make responsibility") Heavy rain / Strong coffee Pay attention / Meet a deadline
Connector Blanks Easy Marks
Contrast: Although, Despite, However, Yet Reason: Because, Since, As Result: Therefore, Thus, So Addition: Moreover, Furthermore Condition: If, Unless, Until
Mini Cloze Test Practice

caused by the pandemic." Options: (a) accelerate (b) address (c) ignore (d) celebrate

c ignore

Fill in the Blanks
5–8 questionsEasy to medium
Single blank ya double blank sentences hoti hain. Ek isolated sentence mein blank fill karna
hota hai Cloze Test se alag, yahan connected paragraph nahi hota.
Single Blank Solving Steps
1
Part of speech identify karo: Blank ke position se samjho noun chahiye? Verb?
Adjective? Adverb? Grammatically wrong options eliminate ho jaate hain isse.
2
Sentence ka tone samjho: Positive sentence mein positive word. Negative context mein
negative. "Despite his _____, he failed." → negative word aayega.
3
Keywords dhundho: Sentence mein hints hote hain "but, although, despite, because,
since" yeh relationship batate hain blank ka baaki sentence se.
4
Option replace karo: Har option sentence mein rakh ke padho jo naturally fit lage,
woh answer.
Double Blank Special Strategy
Double Blank Approach
Step 1: Pehle easier blank fill karo jo zyada obvious hai Step 2: Uss blank se dusra blank narrow ho jaata hai Step 3: Dono ek saath grammatically aur meaning mein fit hone chahiye
Relationship Types:
Same direction: dono positive ya dono negative
Opposite direction: ek positive, ek negative (contrast sentence mein)
Cause-Effect: pehla reason, dusra result
Double Blank Example
"She was _____ in her approach but _____ in her results."
Options: (a) careless excellent (b) meticulous disappointing (c) lazy poor (d)
brilliant extraordinary
Shortcut: Double blank mein pehle aasaan blank fill karo. Ek sahi ho toh dusra automatically
narrow ho jaata hai options aadhe eliminate.
